There's no secret about Robert Woods' tenure with the Tennessee Titans. It was quite disappointing for both sides. Woods played in all seventeen games in 2022, but his production wasn't up to par with what the Titans hoped for when they made the move for the veteran wide receiver.

Woods posted the lowest receiving yardage total of his career in his season with the Titans, and he caught just two touchdowns last year.

Now, he is a wideout for the Houston Texans. Woods believes that he didn't get the usage that he needed to succeed in Tennessee. He expects to bounce back in Houston.

“I had my fewest yards and might have just as well had my second-fewest attempts [last year]. I’m able to make the plays and do more with more… And I think that was the thing when I got to L.A., I saw my catches go from 50 a year to 90, to 100. And obviously, I doubled my yards and doubled the stats…

It’s just about getting the opportunity to make plays and help contribute to the team. That’s what I’m hoping to do here in Houston, have opportunities to make big plays and be myself and do what I’m capable of doing.”

Woods told DJ Bien-Aime of ESPN that he 'most definitely' feels he can be a 1,000-yard receiver again in the NFL.

Seemingly, the veteran is throwing bit of shade at the Titans and their usage of him. It sounds like he is a believer in what he can do in the Texans offense in comparison. He's got confidence – for sure.

He will need to prove all of that this year with the Texans, though. Woods struggled with getting open last season in Tennessee, and his connection with Ryan Tannehill never truly flourished. Woods averaged just 9.9 yards per reception. His game seemed limited at his older age for a WR in the NFL.

Only time will tell if he can prove the Titans wrong for allowing him to sign with a division rival.
