If the Chicago Bears are going to be a threat to win the NFC North in 2023, they'll need quarterback Justin Fields to take a major step forward.
Fields showed last season how electric he can be with the ball in his hands — he's essentially a threat to score every time he touches the ball.
But for the Bears to be at their best, they need Fields to be a bit more consistent.
Former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky, now an analyst for ESPN, thinks Fields will have a breakout season in 2023 thanks to having the right people around him (adding wide receiver DJ Moore to the roster is certainly a big help for Fields).
Orlovsky went as far as saying that he thinks Fields will be in the MVP conversation this fall.
"Justin Fields is going to be in the MVP conversation this year because he finally has the right people around him to allow his talents to excel," said Orlovsky during a recent appearance on ESPN.
If Orlovsky is right, then the Bears are going to have a legitimate chance to win the NFC North over the Minnesota Vikings (the favorites) and the Detroit Lions (the trendy pick).
Every year it seems like there's a team that comes out of nowhere to be a contender. There's no reason the Bears can't be that team in 2023.
