When the New York Giants came to terms with Dexter Lawrence on a four-year, $90 million dollar contract, there was sure to be a celebration on both sides.

Surely you would imagine the player goes out to dinner, looking to fine dine after seeing the increase in his bank account.

But for Dexter Lawrence, he stayed true to his interior defensive lineman roots celebrating the only way he knows how.

Over the course of rookie minicamp weekend, Lawrence held his press conference to officially sign and announce the life-changing extension. He was asked a variety of questions offering truthful, and in this case, funny answers:

Q. What teammates other than Leonard (Williams) have you heard from?

Lawrence: A lot of guys were calling me. My phone was going crazy. I was playing NBA2K (laughs) as part of my celebration, but my phone was going crazy. I got back to as many people as I could. Everybody was excited for me, and I'm just ready to go.

Guy signs a deal for nearly $100 million dollars and he celebrates by playing video games? That may be the definition of a homebody if I've ever seen one, but good for him.

Beyond being relatable to Giants fans, he added some information that should make everyone who bleeds blue grin, saying the following when asked about the impact of Wink Martindale (defensive coordinator) and the Giants organization as a whole:

Yeah, through the whole process, I was like, ‘I want to play here, I want to be a Giant,’ through the whole process. We have something going here, we're building something special, and you can see it from the outside and inside it's even more beautiful. I'm excited for what's going on. Like I said, the whole process I was in communication like, ‘this is where I want to be,’ and we got it done.

When asked about why he doesn't feel pressure given his new deal and rise of the team, Lawrence's personality shined again, proving why he deserved the extension both on and off the field:

Simply because I prepare myself, and I know who I am as a player, and I know what I can do, and I know if I'm on top of what I've got to do, then everything takes care of itself. I'll master my craft, continue to do that, and I don't feel pressure going into games. I don't feel pressure — this is obviously a big deal, but the pressure for me is just — I don't see it as pressure. I embrace it. I embrace having to step up and prove — that's what I take it as, proving my worth, continuing to do that. That's just a stepping-stone for me right now.

The Giants seem to have hit a home run not only on the football player but on the person when drafting and now extending Dexter Lawrence. Giants fans should be optimistic about his outlook as he enters the prime of his career.
