The bulk of offseason moves have been made by now, though there will be roster tweaks made here and there by teams.

And CBS Sports thinks the Kansas City Chiefs could make a roster tweak that results in a former fifth-round draft pick receiving walking papers.

CBS Sports named six veterans that are in danger of being released after the 2023 NFL Draft and they included a Kansas City defender.

Chris Trapasso, an NFL writer for CBS Sports, thinks Chiefs defensive end Michael Danna might not be on the roster this fall.

Trapasso noted that Felix Anudike-Uzomah, a first-round draft pick by the Chiefs last month, could be a potential replacement for Danna.

From CBS Sports: The Chiefs have now spent back-to-back first-round picks at the edge-rusher position — George Karlaftis and Felix Anudike-Uzomah. Of course, given their clear win-now status, Kansas City is much more likely to keep veteran pieces than let them go, and Danna has been a good soldier on outstanding Chiefs teams. But clearing close to $3M could be enticing for GM Brett Veach, and we can't forget Kansas acquired Charles Omenihu this offseason. He's an inside-out defensive lineman who'll add more depth in the trenches. Despite Danna giving the Chiefs sound ROI on a fifth-round pick from 2020, the club has since added higher picks and spent at the defensive end spot in hopes of giving Chris Jones more help up front.

If the Chiefs move on from Danna, they'd save nearly $3 million in cap space. That's not an insignificant amount considering how valuable cap space is for contending teams.

I don't think this move can be ruled out, but I'd be surprised to see the Chiefs move on from defensive line depth this early. Maybe they make a move later in the season, but I don't think they're going to willingly move on from a solid contributor before training camp — you never know what injuries might await later this summer.
