Tampa Bay Buccaneers in for a very long 2023 season

One of the biggest parts of being a fan of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is hating the way the media covers your franchise.
Years of mediocrity mixed with being a team in a very small market have done little to lead to a mountain of media support for the two-time Super Bowl champions.
Now, after three years of having Tom Brady and getting plenty of love from the national media as a whole, the Bucs have gone back to the depths of the league, and many fans take issue with the dozens of power rankings lists that have Tampa near the bottom of the NFL.
Bucs fans have been hopping up on their soap boxes and beating their chests at the apparent disrespect from a media that is ignoring a roster that is better than most would believe, but the media isn't making up this decline out of nothing.
The Buccaneers are going to be a bad football team in 2023. This shouldn't surprise anyone. In fact, the Bucs themselves had to know this was coming because they forced their fans to buy season tickets for two seasons just to get into Raymond James last year.
That isn't a move by a franchise that is confident in its future. That is a move by a team that wants to make money during a time where the team won't be competitive.
To be fair to the outrage, there is almost no chance that the Bucs will be worse than the Falcons, but that is likely where the silver lining ends.
Todd Bowles is one of the worst head coaches in the NFL. Tampa's quarterback room is one of the most questionable. This combination by itself severely hurts Tampa's chances in 2023.
There may be plenty of other positions that look good on paper, but that matters little at the end of the day when you have one of the worst head coach-quarterback duos.
The wide receivers can't do much if the quarterback can't get the ball off. The passing attack can't work if the head coach commits to the run. A great defense doesn't matter if you can't score points. You can't keep your roster intact when you pay players like Devin White, a move the Bucs shouldn't make.
Regardless of how you look at the team and its talent, the binary paints a very concerning picture with Todd Bowles at the helm.
Also, it is worth mentioning that the Bucs being bad in 2023 is probably better than another season like they put together in 2022, especially if it helps them land a franchise quarterback.
Maybe Todd Bowles and Baker Mayfield can surprise some people, but Buccaneers fans probably need to stop showing outrage at the notion that this season is going to be very tough from the jump.
