The San Francisco 49ers have a big issue that needs fixing very badly, and one NFL analyst listed every possibility to help fix that issue.

The 49ers don't usually have an issue with their roster, at least they haven't had any glaring issues in the last few years. They have one of the more complete rosters in the league, where both sides of the ball are very good.

But they do have one issue this offseason, and honestly, you could look at it as a good issue or a bad one. But, it isn't always a bad thing when you have three quarterbacks who are more than capable of being a starting quarterback, and the 49ers have that problem. We don't know who will be their quarterback, and frankly, I don't think they do either.

They found a hidden gem in Mr. Irrelevant last year in Brock Purdy. Of course, the top-five pick from a few years ago in Trey Lance is a guy they would like to see, and they signed Sam Darnold to a deal this offseason. That can be kind of tough to decide. One NFL analyst laid out all the possibilities.

Top priority: Master the "Choose Your Own Adventure" story at QB
Kyle Shanahan is tasked with navigating a quarterback competition featuring:

An on-the-shelf wonderboy in Brock Purdy, who might not be ready for the opener.
A former first-round pick in Trey Lance, who has thrown 102 passes in two seasons.
A former first-rounder in Sam Darnold, who flamed out with the Jets and Panthers before the Niners snatched him up.

Shanny's already busy talking up Darnold — calling him an "unbelievable thrower" — but it's ill news for the organization if he's starting games over Lance while Purdy mends. As for Brock, it's still unclear what he is long-term. It's not the offseason if the Niners aren't bathed in quarterback drama — few teams handle it better — but steering toward Week 1 is no Sunday drive. – Marc Sessler, NFL

They have a few different options when looking at attacking this potentially tough situation. On one hand, Purdy was just executing a system he was in, and was just better than Garoppolo, and that could have been a fluke for all we know. Or, it could have been the real deal.

Darold has experience in this league and was a former top-10 pick in the draft, so he could provide the spark they need. He has also shown a ton of potential in the past.

Trey Lance was selected by the team at a very high pick, and the team has really yet to see him play yet. Sure, they have seen him in practice, and a few games here and there, but nothing really consistent. This training camp will be one of the more important ones we see in quite some time, and I think that is where they find the solution to their problem.
