The Las Vegas Raiders may have some bad news for their star running back Josh Jacobs as an NFL insider reveals something new.
The franchise tag deadline is upon us, and the Las Vegas Raiders have offered one to running back Josh Jacobs; however, he still has yet to sign it. Jacobs is waiting on an extension from the Raiders to play there long-term.
However, one executive doesn't think the deal will get done, per Jordan Schultz.
"I don't think either [Josh Jacobs and Tony Pollard's extension] gets done. Last I heard on both was that they were pretty far apart. Not tons of optimism either. That was yesterday, but I'm not sure anything changes."
That's not good news for Jacobs, who has said he wants to be in Las Vegas. However, the way the running back market is, this deal is hard to get done.
The shelf life is crazy for the position, and Jacobs, who is coming off of a season where he was the best in the league, is already 25 years old, where the shelf life doesn't usually make it to age 30.
This is definitely something to watch moving forward.
