If you haven't seen it yet, 'Quarterback' on Netflix is must-see TV.

The in-depth program gives unprecedented access into the lives of three NFL QBs- Marcus Mariota, Kirk Cousins, and Patrick Mahomes. Getting to see these signal-callers off of the field and in their own homes has been a very interesting watch.

For one segment, the QBs were asked who the most underrated QB in the NFL was. Two of the three men agreed on the answer.

"I think this guy right here," said Mahomes, as he pointed to Cousins. "He wins every year, puts up great stats. Talk to any of the other quarterbacks in the league and they're gonna say the same thing."

That's high praise from arguably the best QB in the league currently. Mariota agreed with Mahomes' assessment.

"I agree with that. I've been in a few systems with a few coaches, and a lot of the tape we'd watch was of Kirk," stated Mariota. "The guy (Cousins) continues to prove why he is one of the top quarterbacks in the league."

Hearing your peers be so complimentary must be an awesome feeling for Cousins. The QB confirmed as much, saying that compliments from peers "beat any compliments from anybody else."

Mariota and Mahomes certainly have reasons for selecting Cousins, by the way. In five seasons with the Vikes, Cousins has thrown for less than 4,200 yards just once (2019). The QB has finished inside of the top 10 in passing yards every season save for 2019 as well.

Cousins has often been criticized for his struggles in primetime and in the postseason, but it's undeniable that the veteran has been one of the best regular seasons QBs in the league. Much of that criticism comes from Cousins' large contract, which is a fair criticism. When a QB is making $30M+ per year, you'd like to have more playoff success than the Vikings have had.

Regardless of what fans and pundits think, it does appear that Cousins is respected around the league. The veteran is entering a pivotal contract year in 2023. Can he lead the Vikings to the playoffs once again?
