The full list of opponents for each SEC program in 2024 will be announced later on Wednesday, but there's already some breaking news about the 2024 schedule that's been dropped.
In 2024 — the first year that Texas and Oklahoma will be in the conference — the SEC is going with an eight-game schedule with no divisions.
According to a report from ESPN's Peter Burns, every SEC team will play either Texas or Oklahoma in 2024.
Earlier on Wednesday, some news about the Texas Longhorns' 2024 schedule leaked.
According to 247Sports' Chip Brown, the Longhorns will play Texas A&M, Arkansas, Georgia, and Oklahoma in 2024. That leaves four additional opponents for Texas.
The assumption is that the Tennessee Vols will play the Oklahoma Sooners in 2024. And the report from Brown certainly increases those odds.
Tennessee was set to host Oklahoma in 2024 in a non-conference matchup, but that game was shelved once it was announced the Sooners would be joining the SEC.
The full details of the Vols' 2024 schedule will be revealed later on Wednesday, but we know for sure that Tennessee will have a game against either Texas or Oklahoma in 2024. We just don't know when and where that matchup will take place.
