Cincinnati Bengals are undoubtedly already excited about the 2023 season thanks to the Super Bowl caliber team the front office in Cincy has built.

But Bengals fans should be even more excited about the 2023 season after comments from superstar Joe Burrow this week.

Burrow, the No. 1 overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft, is willingly leaving the safety of the "young quarterback club", where some of the benefits are the excuses of inexperience and youth, and placing high expectations on his own shoulders.

Burrow met with reporters this week at Cincinnati's mandatory minicamp and he made it clear that the Bengals are operating with a sense of urgency in 2023.

Essentially, it's Super Bowl or bust for the former LSU standout.

"I wouldn't necessarily say motivation," said Burrow when asked about Cincy's Super Bowl aspirations. "I would say maybe urgency. We've been there, done that. Now it's time to take that next step. I wouldn't say that's extra motivation because we're motivated every game, every day, every year. But I would say the sense of urgency has has risen in our locker room."

Burrow is obviously on a mission. He wants to add a Super Bowl ring to his already impressive resumé and he wants to do it quickly. In Burrow's mind, there's no time to waste — even though he's only entering his fourth season in the NFL.

Bengals fans have to be excited about that mindset — especially considering that quarterbacks who lose their Super Bowl debut often never return to the big game (35 quarterbacks, including Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts this past season, have lost their Super Bowl debut and only six of those quarterbacks have made it back to the Super Bowl).

Part of what makes Burrow special is his ability to lead. Publicly stating the mission for the Bengals in 2023 is part of that leadership. And it's something that should rally the fan base as well as the locker room entering a season where Cincinnati is one of the top Super Bowl contenders in the NFL.

The former LSU standout enjoys talking trash to opponents as much as he enjoys hearing opponents talk trash to him. Burrow feels like it energizes him when the opposition goes back and forth with him. So who's the best trash talker in […]
