A big jump is expected from Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens. If you're wondering if that jump will come on or off the field, the answer is yes.
Pickens came in as a rookie last year and showed quickly that he belonged, hauling in 52 receptions for 801 yards and four touchdowns as a Week 1 starter.
The allure of Pickens transcends beyond the plays he makes for the Steelers, and Steelers fans aren't alone in this belief.
Pickens came in at No. 5 in the NFLPA's list of 10 Rising Stars, players who are projected to continue driving the sports licensed business in the upcoming season, and have have demonstrated immense potential, capturing the attention of both fans and industry insiders.
Per the NFLPA, the Rising Stars list equips NFLPA partners, including licensees, retailers, and sponsors, with invaluable insights to strategize marketing campaigns, social media activations, player-driven content, brand ambassadorships, and product lines featuring a diverse range of players.
Joining Pickens on the list of young vets are San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy, Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard, New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave, and plenty more recognizable talents.
Steelers rookie cornerback Joey Porter Jr. also cracked the NFLPA's Rising Stars list of rookies.
The NFLPA reports that "73 players have ascended from the ranks of the Rising Stars list to secure a position on the NFLPA Top 50 Player Sales" since 2015. When players make this list, they usually become popular quickly around the country.
Simply put, Pickens and Porter are budding stars for the Steel City.
