The Las Vegas Raiders moved on from quarterback Derek Carr. After a rollercoaster affair with him as their QB, both sides were ready for a fresh start. Carr has been respectful, but honest, about the end of his time with the Raiders organization.
He hasn't minced words, but he doesn't have disdain for any of the players he is leaving behind in Las Vegas. In actuality, he is still rooting for those guys, and the team as a whole, to succeed in the future. Carr had a close bond with his Raiders teammates, so it's no shock that he wants the best for them going forward.
Carr has dealt with plenty of questions since his departure, but his answer to a recent one may put a smile on the face of Raiders fans.
"I have so many friends over there… I want them to succeed. I want Jimmy to be healthy. I want him to play great, because that helps Davante (Adams). It helps Maxx (Crosby), Josh Jacobs. It helps all my friends, Kolton (Miller), Andre (James). I'm going to stop naming names because someone will get upset, but all my friends over there, I just want them to have success. That's all I was ever trying to do is give my best so they could win." — Carr via NFL.com
It's clear that the near-decade that Carr spent with the Raiders means a lot to him. That will never change – no matter his frustration with how it all ended.
