If you thought the Buffalo Bills-Stefon Diggs drama was killed off last week, well think again.

I mean, it is June and the media does need stuff to talk about. Even if it's just rehashing old news or in one certain case – a false narrative.

Such is the case with the Boston Globe's Ben Volin and FOX Sports' Craig Carton. Both guys are at the forefront of the recent "updates" surrounding Diggs and the Bills and according to them, they've advanced the story in a concrete manner.

However, perception and reality are not one in the same and that's exactly what we have, here.

Per Volin, a source told him Diggs' recent frustration stems from his lack of involvement in both the Bills offense and his voice in the play-calling aspect of things. This is redundant information, however, as Diggs made it clear back in February that yes, his sideline meltdown during the 27-10 playoff loss to the Cincinnati Bengals was a result of the offense's shortcomings and how he factored into it all.

"I feel like the first nine weeks we kind of had a formula, a recipe for winning, and we kind of got away from it on the back end," Diggs said on The Dan Patrick Show. "It was just some crucial moments in the year, late in the season, that there was opportunities we didn't take advantage of. So I feel like that last series, or that last play, when you saw frustration, it wasn't necessarily just that play — but those moments built up to it."

Volin really didn't do any harm, ultimately, though. Carton, on the other hand – well, that's a different story.

Carton claims Diggs' frustration with the Bills is because he restructured his contract thinking the team would add DeAndre Hopkins to the roster. The Bills "failed" to do that, even though D-Hop is a free agent right now, and that sent Diggs off the edge.

Well, all it took was one tweet from Cover 1's Greg Tompsett to completely destroy that lie:

On top of Tompsett's point, it's important to note Diggs' deal was restructured on March 17. Meaning, the Hopkins saga was still in its early stages and it would've been pretty foolhardy on Diggs' part to think everything was just going to simply work out. Especially when considering Hopkins was still under contract with the Arizona Cardinals, at that point.

Diggs also weighed in on Monday afternoon:

So, now, it's all about putting out the proverbial fires that have arrived with the latest news cycle. Here's to hoping that happens sooner rather than later.
