The NFL can be the toughest of businesses with even "do-good" organizations like the Pittsburgh Steelers having to pull shrewd practices from time to time.

This year will be no different, as Pittsburgh will have to make a choice on who to keep and who to let go, in just a matter of weeks.

One name that may be on the latter end of that deal would certainly be entitled to hard feelings if that comes true:

Quincy Roche, Edge

Roche was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, but he would never play a regular season snap for the team, being cut before the season’s start and signing with the New York Giants for a two-year stint.

Unfortunately, Roche may be in line for an awful case of Deja Vu, even after returning to the Steelers this offseason, looking to cement himself as a member of the organization in his second go-round.

And while it looked promising for Roche for some time, then came the signing of veteran pass rusher Markus Golden, seemingly placing Roche on the outside of an outside linebacker group that stacks up as follows:

  • T.J. Watt
  • Alex Highsmith
  • Nick Herbig
  • Markus Golden

Now there's always the chance that Pittsburgh carries five edge players as opposed to four, but both I and Mark Kaboly of The Athletic think the Steelers will stay true to their four-man tradition
