The Pittsburgh Steelers' busy offseason continues with another addition to the defense.

Per his agent David Canter, free agent defensive tackle Armon Watts is signing with Pittsburgh.

Watts, a fifth-year player in 2023, was originally a sixth-round pick by the Minnesota Vikings in 2019. He spent three years in Minnesota, recording seven sacks in 40 games played, before getting waived by the team in final cuts last year. The Chicago Bears claimed Watts right before the 2022 season.

In his lone season in the Windy City, Watts played in 17 games and made 12 starts. He finished with just one sack and 35 tackles.

At 6-5, 295 pounds, Watts has played his fair share at both defensive tackle spots. He's an experienced nose tackle despite having the height and weight of a standard 3-4 defensive end. Minnesota primarily played him at both 3-technique and 1-technique in their even front defense, and Chicago did more of the same.

The Steelers have now added two defensive linemen as they look to replenish the position with Chris Wormley and Tyson Alualu no longer under contract. Watts can slide in behind Larry Ogunjobi and Montravius Adams in the d-line rotation if he ends up winning a roster spot.
