The Saints offensive line has been a staple for them over the past handful of seasons. Last year, injuries plagued the unit.

Hopefully, this season will avoid that curse for Cesar Ruiz, Erik McCoy, and company.

Ruiz is an interesting case. He's entering his fourth season, and he dealt with multiple injuries a season ago.

In his rookie year in 2020, Ruiz saw his share of struggles as he transitioned to the NFL game speed. In 2021, he took legitimate strides and became a consistent force on the OL for the Saints.

Last year, inconsistencies popped up again, but the ailments certainly didn't help that.

Luckily, it sounds like Ruiz is officially fully healthy once again as the team prepares for OTAs and training camp in the coming months.

Ruiz is a key part of the offense for the Saints. He isn't a playmaker or a skill position guy, but having him at his best makes the offensive line one of the best in the NFC.

Missing Ruiz and McCoy at times last year really damaged the chances of offensive success for the Saints.

His return is something to monitor this year as he tries to earn a second contract from New Orleans.
