The Tennessee Titans have finally made an addition to their wide receiving corps after neglecting the position through the early period of free agency.
Veteran wide receiver Chris Moore has agreed to terms on a contract with the Titans for the 2023 season.
Moore, 29, had the best season of his career in 2022, hauling in 48 passes for 548 yards and two touchdowns with the Houston Texans.
Moore's deal with Tennessee comes exactly one week after he was hosted by the Titans for a visit in Nashville.
Moore now joins Treylon Burks, Kyle Philips, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Mason Kinsey, Racey McMath, and Reggie Roberson as current wide receivers under contract with the Titans.
While brining an experienced veteran like Moore into the fold is a step in the right direction, his acquisition does not change the Titans' dire need for pass catchers. Wide receiver still needs to be addressed in the early rounds of the 2023 NFL Draft, and in my opinion, Tennessee would still be smart to explore the trade market.
If Ryan Tannehill is going to be the quarterback for this team in 2023, the Titans need to get him some help. Doing the bare minimum by signing a seven-year veteran with 13 career starts at the end of free agency is nowhere near good enough.
Given the lack of experienced receivers on the current roster, Moore should see a healthy number of snaps in the Titans offense next season. Hopefully he can channel what he did in Houston last year and provide Tennessee with some high-quality depth.
