The Kansas City Chiefs are one of the best in the league at finding hidden talents and developing those guys to be great players that fit the Chiefs' style.

They do it in the draft, as we saw this last year with the five or six rookies who started or played big snaps in the playoffs, and they do it in free agency, which we will see later this year.

Brett Veach is a guy that should win GM of the Year every year, but will never truly get the chance to win it because of the team he works for.

They grabbed one of the biggest steals in all of free agency and can develop him into a star, but we still have to wait and see on that. A big reason this team is as successful as it is is because of Brett Veach.

Charles Omenihu has the potential to be a star for the Chiefs, which is why it's so great that they got him for what they did after letting Frank Clark go. For one NFL analyst, they feel the same way.

Favorite: Adding edge defender Charles Omenihu

Omenihu is one of the more intriguing, young inside-outside pass-rushers. At 6-foot-5 and 280 pounds, he took a leap once landing with the San Francisco 49ers at the 2021 trade deadline. The former fifth-round pick of the Houston Texans earned a 75.3 pass-rush grade with 54 quarterback pressures on a 13% pressure rate in 2022.

Per Pro Football Focus, Omenihu's pass rush win rate is 20.7%, which is higher than Chris Jones' 20.4%, which was the highest in his position. Just for reference, Clark was 37th in pass rush win rate at 13%.

Omenihu was also in the top 16 in total pressures of all players with 62. The former fifth-rounder in the 2019 draft is also just 25 years old, while Clark is about to be 30, so the replacement is perfect.

He was brought in to replace Clark and could end up bringing much more. He has star potential and the Chiefs got him for a steal in free agency. This is what they do though. Now, expect him to turn into a guy that no one likes to play against. I think he and Jones could be elite on defense – a duo everyone fears.
