The New Orleans Saints love to re-sign their depth to smart deals. They've done that once again with an under-the-radar contributor.

The Saints have re-signed linebacker Andrew Dowell.

The contract details are unknown at the moment.

Dowell is a lesser known player for New Orleans.

That is probably because much of his impact occurs on special teams. Those players don't get quite the hype, but his usefulness is clear for the Saints and their staff.

He is truly phenomenal on special teams, along with J.T. Gray, who the Saints extended earlier in the off-season, too.

They love his energy and leadership on ST, and he can provide depth at LB on the defensive side of the ball, too. The Saints need that after LB Kaden Elliss left for Atlanta during free agency.

In three seasons in New Orleans, Dowell has totaled 22 tackles and two forced fumbles.
