The New Orleans Saints have done some work in their defensive secondary this offseason.

Veteran safety Johnathan Abram was brought on board, and versatile cornerback/safety Lonnie Johnson Jr. signed a one-year deal.

Speaking of versatility, the Saints are interested in a prospect that fits that mold as they will host Minnesota defensive back Jordan Howden for a private workout.

Howden was all over the field during his five seasons with the Golden Gophers. According to Pro Football Focus, of his 3,027 career snaps, Howden logged 1,391 in the slot, 978 at free safety, 621 in the box, 23 as an outside cornerback, and even 12 snaps on the defensive line. That's the definition of versatility.

Along with a ton of experience, Howden has some mice measurables. Howden is 6'0" and weighs 203 pounds with 32 1/4-inch arms . He posted a 4.49 in the 40-yard dash, a 39.5-inch vertical jump, and a 9'8" in the broad jump.

Howden registered 240 tackles during his time at Minnesota with 5.5 of them coming behind the line of scrimmage. Also, he produced four interceptions and 20 pass breakups.

It's projected that Howden will be a Day 3 pick in the NFL draft. That's the perfect spot for the Saints to snag a guy like Howden with his experience and versatility that still needs some fine-tuning to his game.
