Fans of the Tennessee Titans sounded the panic alarm this past weekend when rumors swirled regarding a Derrick Henry trade to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Of course, nothing came to fruition. At least, nothing has quite yet. There continues to be some concern around the potential of a Henry trade, but it seems unlikely as of now. In his press conference this morning, new Titans GM Ran Carthon took a fire extinguisher to the rumors around the team's star running back.

Furthermore, NFL insider Albert Breer doesn't think trading Henry would be worth it for Tennessee. He doesn't see the Titans making a deal. His reasoning makes plenty of sense as well.

Just because Derrick Henry’s name comes up in trade talk doesn’t mean someone will be willing to part with what it’d take to pry him from the Titans. And there are a couple reasons for that. One, not many teams value the type of back Henry is the way Tennessee does, so, from their perspective, they would be taking nickels on the dollar for him. Then, there’s his mileage. He was in the same draft class as Elliott, has recorded 1,750 career carries, has gotten nicked up the last couple years and turns 30 in eight months.

Add his contract to the mix, and it’s hard to imagine new Titans GM Ran Carthon will come across a trade package that’s better for his team than just holding on to Henry. –Breer

The return for a top, but aging, RB just wouldn't live up to expectations for the Titans. Not to mention, his contract isn't the cheapest option at the position, so teams will be even more cautious in trading for him. The Titans seemingly aren't moving on from Derrick Henry anytime soon, folks.
