Draft day is a special time for any pick, whether that be as early as night one, or as late as the seventh round on day three, becoming a member of the NFL via the draft is a distinct honor.
Oftentimes, we see the draftee and his family members moved to tears, as the emotion runs through them after years of hard work, effort, and for the later round picks, tons of adversity.
But other times, we receive light-hearted scenarios where players were caught off guard, or in this case, in the wrong place, but at the right time when it comes to Eric Gray's draft day phone call.
I think we can all speak to a scenario like this at some point in our lives, just maybe not on as grand a stage as the NFL Draft. Talk about poor timing huh? Like a phone call when you finally lay down to take a nap, Gray had to pivot quickly.
Hopefully, his reactions on the field will be just as quick, as he may be a significant player for the foreseeable future given the current state of the Giants' running back room.
