The Detroit Lions have been killing it this offseason.
From keeping important free agents to bringing in quality guys from the outside, Brad Holmes and his staff deserve all the praise in the world for keeping this franchise in a great position to compete in 2023.
The upcoming draft is going to be a great way to see just how well this front office is able to build a roster, and while it looks like they are doing everything in the right way to do well, they do need to make one slight change to their strategy.
There is obviously still time and visiting with prospects isn't the end-all for teams, but the Lions should still probably meet with Alabama pass rusher Will Anderson.
It may look like the Lions have no shot of landing Anderson at six based on his unreal talent, but the run on quarterbacks that is sure to come in the top couple of picks could make this more of an opportunity for Detroit than some would think.
If Anderson is available at six, the Lions would be insane to pass on a player of his talent and fit with their roster.
Again, the Lions should still be okay making a pick like this without having a meeting, but it still would help to keep all options open to their fullest extent, even if it would take a lot of optimism and luck to make this happen.
