It doesn't matter whether you are at the top of your field or not; if the right person says the wrong thing to you in just the right moment, it could derail whatever you're working on in miraculous fashion.
That is apparently what almost happened to the newest winner of The Masters, Jon Rahmn, after former Philadelphia Eagles star Zach Ertz sent a simple text about the first green on the course.
Ertz, who was apparently trying to hype his friend up before the first hole, decided to talk about how easy it looked.
Rahm proceeded to four-putt that hole.
It is obvious that this moment stuck with him so much considering Rahm even name-dropped Ertz after he was crowned champion:
You can tell in his voice that this isn't a joke, and he even says it while wearing the green jacket.
Long story short, maybe Zach Ertz should think twice before talking about how easy a hole looks like during Rahm's next match. At least it didn't backfire too much this time.
