The Seattle Seahawks have unlimited possibilities when it comes to what they can do in the 2023 NFL Draft.
One of those possibilities -and it's a very likely one- is drafting a quarterback in the first round. John Schneider, Pete Carroll, and co. have met with all of the top prospects and it certainly has a feel that it's more than just due diligence.
Either way, per ESPN's Jeff Darlington, Carroll has made sure that Pro Bowl Geno Smith is fully aware that the Seahawks could very well take a QB in Round 1. It hasn't been posturing and smoke – there is a real chance this could happen.
Our own Tyler Browning suspects the quarterback to be Will Levis based off Carroll's recent tweet. Another option that makes a lot of sense is Anthony Richardson, a raw, but extremely talented prospect that would benefit greatly by sitting for a year -or two- and learning under Smith.
Either way, it's commendable of Carroll to keep things real with his Pro Bowl quarterback. He's always had the reputation of being a players' coach, but not just with the idea of being a pushover – the players truly respect him because of how he handles business.
We'll see what happens tonight.
