The New Orleans Saints could be receiving some draft capital soon from a team they don't even know yet. By that, I mean, there is a team that will make Sean Payton their new head coach, but they have to trade for him, and we still don't know who that team will be.

There is a rumor though, that one of the teams possibly interested is the Los Angeles Chargers. But, we all know, as of Monday, January 16, the Chargers still have Brandon Staley as their head coach. There are rumors that he could be let go, though, especially after the debacle in Jacksonville.

But, in my opinion, the Chargers won't move on from Staley unless they know Payton is for sure coming to Los Angeles.

But, the ball is ultimately in the Saints' court, and here is why the Chargers could very well get Payton as their head coach.

It starts with money. The Chargers are willing to spend money, and they have shown that over the last few years. Look at the contracts they gave Joey Bosa, J.C. Jackson, Derwin James, Keenan Allen, and Mike Williams, and I could keep going. They will spend money, and Payton likes that.

Not to mention, they have a young star quarterback who is still on his rookie contract that would probably love to work with a guy like Payton. They also have draft picks to give away, and they will for a guy that could get them to a championship-contending level because we all know their roster is at that level already.

The last reason I think Payton would be willing to coach the Chargers is because of the location. As we all know, the Chargers are in Los Angeles now, not San Diego. If you didn't already know this, Payton lives in Los Angeles as he works for Fox Sports, which is based in the area. He wouldn't really have to move, either.

I think the fit is perfect, and the Saints could get some good things in return too. Now we just need Staley gone, as bad as it sounds. But, Staley is an excellent defensive coordinator and would be a good one on another team.
