Tennessee Vols redshirt senior linebacker Juwan Mitchell entered the NCAA transfer portal on Monday according to a report from The Athletic.

Mitchell, who transferred to Tennessee from Texas before the 2021 season, has one year of eligibility remaining.

The New Jersey native played in 13 games for the Vols over the past two seasons. Mitchell played in 10 games in 2022 with seven starts.

Mitchell actually led Tennessee in tackles in three straight games during one stretch this season (Kentucky, Georgia, Missouri).

The most memorable moment of Mitchell's career at Tennessee came in the Vols' win against Kentucky when he intercepted Will Levis in the red zone.

Aaron Beasley and BYU transfer Keenan Pili are set to be the Vols' top linebackers in 2023. That was likely going to be the case even if Mitchell didn't enter the portal.
