The moment that fans of the New Orleans Saints had been waiting for for weeks finally happened. The organization shipped off former head coach Sean Payton in a trade.

Payton will be the new HC of the Denver Broncos, and the Saints got a solid return of draft picks in the deal. Now, New Orleans is back in the first round of this year's draft.

There is a new worry for Saints fans now, though.

Everyone knows the respect and love that Sean Payton had for Taysom Hill. Hill's career took off when he joined Payton in New Orleans. He had never gotten the unique opportunity that the Saints HC gave him before in the NFL.

Hill has taken full advantage of that and worked hard to become an important utility player for New Orleans. His work on special teams and offense cannot be understated.

The Saints were much better on offense this past season when Hill got more touches, and that was with Payton out of the building.

Now, he is in Denver, and it wouldn't surprise anyone if he attempted to trade for one of the Saints' fan favorites in Hill.

The compensation for Hill is a package we have never seen before in the NFL. If he were to get traded, no one is quite sure what he would cost because his skillset and usage isn't the norm for any player in the NFL. It'd be a very interesting scenario.

Payton has mentioned before that if he ever coached another team, he would want to try to get Taysom onto that squad.

It's clear that Payton has a special place in his heart for Hill. That was clear in New Orleans as well. He valued his talent, leadership, and grit. Fans do as well.

For the Saints, it would be tough to see a competitor like Hill leave alongside Payton. It's definitely something to keep an eye on in the coming months.
