The Tennessee Titans officially have their new offensive coordinator in Tim Kelly.
The in-house hire isn't too surprising considering his strong relationship with head coach Mike Vrabel. Vrabel believes that Kelly's experience and scheme can play well in Tennessee.
Along with Kelly, there were additional staff changes/additions for the Titans. At the forefront, the Titans hired Charles London as their new pass game coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
He has spent the past two seasons with the Atlanta Falcons as their QBs coach. More importantly, London worked for the Chicago Bears prior to that stint for three seasons.
From 2018-2020, London coached three different running backs in Chicago that all eclipsed 1,000 scrimmage yards in a season. He has impressive experience the RBs that aren't quite as physically gifted as Titans RB Derrick Henry.
Even as their pass game coordinator and QBs coach, he will still work with Henry and the entire offense in order to create the best passing game possible for the Titans.
Two running backs posted career highs in rushing yards while London was in Chicago. Those two were Tarik Cohen and David Montgomery.
Additionally, London spent time in Houston with the rival Texans. He was there from 2014-2017, and the Texans ranked sixth in rushing yards per game in the NFL during his stint.
Funny enough, London has worked for the Titans before now as well. In 2011, he served as an offensive assistant and quality control coach for Mike Munchak.
London is a proven talent at the NFL level in the coaching ranks. His role with the Titans will be important to their success on offense.
Even as their pass game coordinator, he helps the stock of star running back Derrick Henry.
