The Denver Broncos took a big chance last off-season. They hired Nathaniel Hackett to be their head coach.

Hackett had never been an HC in the NFL before. Unfortunately, it just didn't work out for him in Denver. The offense struggled mightily. Hackett's unit let the defense down on multiple occasions, and Russell Wilson looked the worst he has in his entire career.

He was fired before the regular season ended, and the Broncos are searching for his replacement.

Meanwhile, other teams are filling roles on their staffs as well. Hackett just got another chance to be a play-caller in the league.

The New York Jets are hiring Hackett as the new offensive coordinator.

For the Jets, they are taking another swing in order to improve their offense.

It could be a move to attempt to sway a trade for them as well. Hackett has a great relationship with Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. It is possible that the Packers trade Rodgers during the off-season.

If they do, an AFC landing spot is most likely. Accordingly, the Jets fit that bill as they have a strong defense and a need for a starting QB.

The Broncos thought the same thing last year as well, though.

Many people felt that Rodgers may join Hackett in Denver, but it never happened. The Jets may have just fallen into the same trap.
