The Kansas City Chiefs have a veteran that just broke an NFL record, but it's a guy that we wouldn't expect.

Of course, Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes are always breaking records. Heck, even when Tyreek Hill was here he would break some records as well.

But who in their right mind expected a Chiefs running back to break a record when the Chiefs throw the ball almost more than any other team?

Well, all-purpose running back Jerick McKinnon just did that. He broke an NFL record that no one expected him to.

On Sunday in Week 17 against the Broncos, McKinnon was able to haul in a touchdown by way of Mahomes throwing the ball to him. McKinnon now has his fifth straight week with a receptions touchdown, which is an NFL record by a running back.

McKinnon has been the best running back on the team this season by far. He can run, catch, and pass block, the only guy on the team that can do all three consistently well.

This season he has been somewhat of a security blanket for Mahomes and the Chiefs, as he continually bails the Chiefs out of situations that they shouldn't be in.

And now, he has an NFL record under his belt.
