The Minnesota Vikings’ passing attack was one of the NFL’s most explosive units in 2022 led by superstar Justin Jefferson. After such a productive season from the team’s wide receivers, it makes sense as to why teams have interest in Vikings wide receivers coach Keenan McCardell.

McCardell logged 16 seasons in the NFL as a player. He was hired as the Vikings’ wide receivers coach in 2021, which is a position he’s held for two seasons. In those two seasons, the Vikings have undergone major growth at the receiver position.

One of the most attractive offensive assistants in football, McCardell landed an interview for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers opening at offensive coordinator.

He has familiarity with the franchise, playing two seasons with the Bucs (2002-2003), including a Super Bowl victory in 2002.

Prior to his time in Minnesota, McCardell had been a wide receivers coach with the Jacksonville Jaguars (2017-2020, Washington Redskins (2010-2011), and made a stop at the collegiate level with the Maryland Terrapins (2014-2015).

McCardell does have competition for the job, as Tampa Bay has interviewed Broncos QB coach Klint Kubiak and have requested an interview with Jaguars pass game coordinator Jim Bob Cooter.
