ESPN thinks the Los Angeles Chargers will beat the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first round of the playoffs this weekend, setting up a second-round showdown with the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Chiefs have a first-round bye after locking down the No. 1 seed in the AFC. It's the third time since Patrick Mahomes took over as the franchise's starting quarterback in 2018 that KC will have the No. 1 seed.

Kansas City will play the lowest remaining seed in the divisional round of the playoffs. ESPN has the Cincinnati Bengals beating the Baltimore Ravens and the Buffalo Bills beating the Miami Dolphins. As a result, the Chargers or the Jaguars would be the lowest remaining seed.

ESPN has the Chiefs coming out on top in a potential matchup against Los Angeles.

From ESPN:

The Chargers have the personnel on defense to keep this close and tip the scales in their direction if Mahomes has a sloppy game, but I trust Kansas City coach Andy Reid's ability to find answers against a familiar rival and his 28-6 record coming off of a bye. It took four K.C. turnovers for the Chargers to win at Arrowhead Stadium last season; they won't get that sort of perfect storm again.

The Chiefs have dominated the AFC West with Mahomes and Andy Reid leading the charge.

But all bets are off in the playoffs. The Chargers will be playing with a chip on their shoulder as nearly every national analyst will likely be riding with Kansas City in this matchup.

Of course, the Chiefs have that chip, too. They haven't forgotten how the national media wrote them off before the season due to the other teams in the AFC West making significant roster improvements while Kansas City traded away one of the best players in the NFL in Tyreek Hill.

This should be a fun one. ESPN thinks it will be close, but they believe that the Chiefs will ultimately come away with yet another playoff win.
