One disgruntled player continues to doubt the Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles have made a habit out of proving doubters run in their dominating run to Super Bowl LVII. As if the Eagles haven’t already made enough people look foolish this season, one of their recent foes is giving the team more bulletin board material.
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk is the latest player to down play Philadelphia’s chances to hoist the Lombardi Trophy. Aiyuk made an appearance on The SF Niners this week to offer his prognostication on the Big Game.
“If I were going to bet on this game, I would take everything that I own, get it in cash, and put my money on the Kansas City Chiefs,” Aiyuk declared.
It's not the first time Aiyuk attempted to throw shade on the Eagles, either. He had also made comments trying to disparage Philly's defense, which came off as delusional.
Perhaps Aiyuk still hasn’t quite gotten over the 49ers’ embarrassing 31-7 defeat in the NFC’s Conference Championship Game. He might still be harboring some resentment after the Eagles’ defense held him to just one catch for 10 measly yards.
Either way, Aiyuk will be taking in Super Bowl LII from the couch while the Eagles do battle with the Kansas City Chiefs. Distractions can come in many different shapes and sizes in the weeks leading up to the Super Bowl, but it would be surprising if the Eagles put much thought into the comments made from a player on a team that they’ve already taken care of.
