Denver and former DC Ejiro Evero agreed to part ways yesterday as Evero wanted to seek a different opportunity. He landed the DC job with the Carolina Panthers today.
The Broncos are searching for an experienced mind to lead their defense under Sean Payton now. One candidate is getting an interview on Tuesday.
Former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores will get a shot to lock down the position for the Broncos.
He was the senior defensive assistant and linebackers coach this past season for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Flores is a hot candidate right now. The Minnesota Vikings were front runners to hire Evero was their defensive coordinator. That clearly didn't work out, so Flores remains one of their top options.
The Arizona Cardinals are some competition for Denver as well. They may hire Flores to be their next head coach.
Regardless, it should not be surprising that the Broncos have interest in the former head coach.
With Payton at the helm, they will probably shoot for experience at DC.
He wants a proven play-caller that will help take care of the defensive side of the football while he handles the offense. Flores is a very highly-respected defensive coach in the NFL.
