Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes showed some rare anger on the sidelines in the first half of Saturday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Mahomes suffered an ankle injury in the first quarter and after trying to continue playing, Kansas City head coach Andy Reid and the Chiefs' trainers sent the superstar quarterback to the locker room and inserted backup Chad Henne into the game.
And Mahome was not happy.
After pleading his case to stay in the game, he angrily threw his coat to the ground.
Check it out:
Mahomes clearly did not want to leave the sideline. But it was the right move — Mahomes was only going to make the injury worse if he didn't go to the locker room to get treatment. According to NBC's broadcast, Mahomes asked to wait until halftime to go to the locker room to get treatment before he stormed off the sideline.
The former NFL MVP will likely continue to make his case to get back into the game. And I wouldn't be surprised if he succeeds. Mahomes is an elite competitor and you know it's killing him to have to watch from the sidelines.
