Kansas City Chiefs fans must not have learned anything from the Cincinnati Bengals a couple of weeks ago.
The Bengals and their fans talked a lot of trash before playing the Chiefs. And that included the mayor of Cincinnati taking a shot at Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
All of that trash talk wildly backfired as the Chiefs handled the Bengals in the AFC Championship game. As a result, the mayor of Cincinnati had to apologize.
Kansas City players haven't talked trash this week about Philadelphia Eagles players ahead of Super Bowl LVII, but that didn't stop some Chiefs fans from making the ultimate mistake.
Some KC fans (we assume) put a Chiefs jersey on the famous Rocky statue in Philadelphia this week.
That probably wasn't a good idea.
In recent years, teams that put their jersey on the Rocky statue are 0-4.
The most recent example came just a couple of weeks ago when San Francisco 49ers fans put a jersey on the statue and then saw their team get beat 31-7.
Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce even begged fans not to put a jersey on the statue, but fans didn't listen.
If the Eagles pull off the win on Sunday, Chiefs fans are going to have a hard time knowing that they allowed the curse to continue.
Then again, maybe Kansas City breaks the curse and we never have to hear about the Rocky statue again.
Either way, it should be a fun one on Sunday in Arizona.
