Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is the face of the NFL.
In a league in which passing offenses are king and the league is filled with great arms and minds at the position, there's no doubt who QB1 is in the league. It's Mahomes.
The fact that it's not even a debate (like Brady vs. Manning was for a long, long time), is wildly impressive.
And it's not even because of his two Super Bowl rings. His play speaks for itself. Whether you're going by traditional stats, advanced metrics, or the good old eye test… Mahomes is the best there is.
That leaves many wondering: How does he do it? How does the best quarterback in the league operate?
Well, Chiefs and NFL fans are about to get a very special peek at his work behind the scenes as Netflix announces its new docuseries, "Quarterback."
Netflix has been killing the sports genre with various titles including The Last Dance, Break Point, Formula 1: Drive to Survive, and most recently, Full Swing. Now, they'll release a show that goes behind the lines of the most difficult job in sports.
Mahomes isn't the only quarterback featured in the series. Beyond the Chiefs' superstar, Quarterback also covers Marcus Mariota and Kirk Cousins with "unprecedented access to the NFL stars on and off the field."
Watching Mahomes mic'd up for every game will be a treat. NFL fans will likely get a first-row view of what went down in Super Bowl LVII, for example.
But personally, I can't wait to see Mahomes working with the Chiefs' young players in the offseason. With 2022 being his first year without Tyreek Hill, we know how responsible he was for teaching the offense across the roster.
Getting insight into how all of that went down is something I can't wait for. Maybe we'll see a heated debate here and there, who knows?
Chiefs Kingdom will have to wait for the release of the show how as it's expected to premiere in the summer. In the meantime, Super Bowl mic'd-up videos should suffice for a fanbase that is still celebrating.
