Pro Bowl cornerback explains the truth behind fight with DK Metcalf
DK Metcalf got into an altercation with an Eagles corner when the two teams played, but the reason behind it shows just how intimidating Metcalf can be.
Seattle Seahawks star wide receiver, DK Metcalf was tormenting Eagles cornerback Darius Slay the last time the two teams played.
It was November 2020 when Slay and Metcalf faced off. And in that game, it is safe to say Metcalf got the better of the Eagles' defense. He tallied 10 receptions on 13 targets for 177 yards. And he also got into a fight with the cornerback tasked with trying to stop him — Slay.
Recently, Slay spoke of that November night. And he admits, now, that he doesn't even know what was going on that night he and Metcalf got into it.
"I hear him growling, like coming to get me," Slay said. "I turned around and all I see is him talking about boom, big gorilla."
Metcalf remains one of the most physically imposing wide receivers in the league. There are not many corners that can match up with him one-on-one. And even then, Metclaf is most likely winning most 50-50 balls.
It's no surprise that Slay really had no answer for Metcalf that day — he didn't really know what was even going on.
This is only one story of Metcalf's intimidating feats. He has built a reputation around the NFL as one of the most physically intimidating players in the league. If he keeps it up, he will reach Bo Jackson's status in terms of stories regarding his athletic feats.
Take a recent Twitter video that surfaced of him seemingly floating in the air to catch a pass.
Yes, Metcalf made that catch look easy and routine.
So, if I were Slay, I wouldn't want to fight the Seahawks' star receiver either.
