A 2023 NFL Draft prospect compared himself to Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs on Friday.

By Saturday, he looked….silly.

LSU wide receiver Kayshon Boutte is one of the more intriguing prospects in this year's draft.

The Louisiana native is a former five-star recruit who looked unstoppable at times in college.

Boutte caught 14 passes for 308 yards and three touchdowns as a true freshman against Ole Miss in 2020.

Other times, Boutte would completely disappear (like his two receptions for 20 yards in LSU's loss to Florida State last season).

The potential is there, but the consistency is lacking.

On Friday, Boutte was asked at the draft combine how fast he expected to run in the 40-yard dash and which wide receiver he'd compared himself to in the NFL.

Boutte answered that he expected to run a 4.3 and he confidently compared himself to Diggs.

Boutte didn't exactly back up his talk on Saturday.

For starters, Boutte disappointed in the vertical leap portion of testing.

The former LSU wide receiver's vertical leap measured at just 29 inches, which was the lowest of any wide receiver in the first two groups at the combine.

His broad jump wasn't up to par, either. Boutte's 108-inch broad jump was the second-lowest of the two groups.

To make matters worse, Boutte, who officially measured at 5-foot-11, ran the 40-yard dash in 4.50 and 4.67 seconds — lackluster times to put it bluntly.

It was a disappointing performance from a player who was hoping to boost his draft stock after an up-and-down season.

Instead, Boutte's combine performance will likely cause him to drop further in the draft. And it certainly won't inspire any confidence that he's the next Stefon Diggs.

I'm sure a team will take a chance on Boutte. But I can't see it being the Bills. They already have the real Stefon Diggs, they don't need the Great Value version, too.
