Aaron Rodgers’ list of demands for Jets includes Packers free agents
Aaron Rodgers hasn’t made a decision yet, but he has a wish list.
We’re officially two days into the legal tampering period of free agency, and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers still hasn’t made a decision about his future and whether or not he’ll accept a trade to the New York Jets.
But he does know that if he’s traded to the Jets, that he’ll want to be joined by some friends.
ESPN’s Dianna Russini reported Tuesday that “Rodgers has provided the NY Jets with a wish-list of free agents he would like them to target and acquire, per sources. It includes Randall Cobb, Allen Lazard, Marcedes Lewis and….Odell Beckham Jr.”

It includes Randall Cobb, Allen Lazard, Marcedes Lewis and….Odell Beckham Jr.
Cobb, Lazard and Lewis all were teammates of Rodgers’ in Green Bay. The Packers showed interest in signing Beckham after he was cut by the Cleveland Browns in 2021, but the wideout ultimately signed with the Los Angeles Rams. Beckham was out of football in 2022 as he recovered from a knee injury but held a workout for teams in Arizona last week.
The Jets already have Garrett Wilson, Corey Davis, Elijah Moore, Denzel Mims and Irvin Charles at wide receiver. That group would become crowded with the additions of Lazard, Beckham and Cobb.
The Jets and Packers are both in a bit of a standstill until Rodgers makes a decision. It wouldn’t make sense to acquire players from Rodgers’ wish list if he’s not coming, but they also don’t want to miss out on those players and prevent Rodgers from wanting to play in New York. The Packers will actually lose salary cap space if they trade Rodgers.
It’s a messy situation and everyone is hoping that Rodgers will resolve it sooner than later.
