The New Orleans Saints have one of their most important offensive weapons back for 2023.

Wide receiver Michael Thomas has agreed to a one-year incentive-laced deal.

Thomas's deal is for $10 million with a max value of $15 million.

New Orleans getting Thomas locked in will certainly make quarterback Derek Carr smile.

When Carr was officially introduced last weekend, he spoke about his first interaction with Thomas.

"The first time I talked to him on the phone, I don't think he wanted me to get off the phone, I really enjoyed talking to him, "Carr said while laughing. "I told Mickey (Loomis), I was like, you talk to Mike Thomas and you feel like you two can go out and face the world."

Thomas has had terrible luck staying healthy the last three years, playing in only 10 games (missed the entire 2021 season). When he's in uniform, he's one of the best wide receivers in the NFL.

Thomas had over 100 receptions for three straight years before his injury woes, including a single-season record of 149 in 2019 (led the NFL in catches in 2018 with 125) when he so racked up 1,725 yards.

If Thomas can stay healthy, the Saints have a formidable offense with running back Alvin Kamara plus receivers Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed.
