Stranger things have happened for the Philadelphia Eagles in the past.

In a time where it seems like a lot of the free agent market has started to become stagnant, the rumors around former Cowboys Pro Bowl running back Ezekiel Elliott have picked up.

After playing against the NFC East for so long, it seems like Elliott has used that time to scout out his options in free agency.

Perhaps Elliott could pick one of his former most-hated rivals to become his new home.

Philly would be a crazy place for Elliott to land, but it does make sense when you really start to break it down.

The Eagles do have the cap space and the need at the position after letting their RB1 walk. Elliot won't break the bank, and he will also probably like to get a few chances to hurt the team that let him walk (after making him very rich).

Of the teams available, the Eagles would be Elliott's best shot at winning a Super Bowl….

Still, it is important for Eagles fans to temper expectations with news like this. Zeke isn't the dynamic back that he once was, but it would help the still-young running back room to bring in a vet with plenty of experience.

Crazier things have happened.
