LSU DE BJ Ojulari is a FREAK, & he's ONLY 20 years old! NFL Draft Film Breakdown
In this film breakdown, we take a look at LSU Edge BJ Ojulari, a standout edge rusher with incredible potential.
Ojulari is a very developed edge rusher, especially for a 20 year old, and has all the tools in his bag to become a Von Miller-caliber pass rusher. He has fantastic bend and athleticism in his rush, is consistently making plays in the backfield and from the back side. Ojulari has a great motor and uses his hands very well, allowing him to manipulate tackles, despite being somewhat undersized for an edge rusher. He should tear up the NFL Combine and LSU Pro Day this Spring, and will most likely continue to fly up NFL Draft big boards.
Strengths:
- Pass Rushing: Ojulari is a talented edge rusher with impressive speed, quickness, and agility. He is adept at using his hands to get past blockers and is a constant threat to opposing quarterbacks.
- Athleticism: Ojulari possesses impressive athleticism, which he uses to his advantage on the field. He has great speed, agility, and balance, which makes him difficult to block and allows him to make plays all over the field.
- Instincts: Ojulari has excellent instincts and football IQ. He is great at reading plays and anticipating what the offense will do, which allows him to make plays and disrupt the opposing team's game plan.
Weaknesses:
- Run Defense: While Ojulari is a talented pass rusher, he can struggle at times in run defense. He can get caught up in blocks and can be pushed back by larger offensive linemen.
- Size: At 6'2" and 249 pounds, Ojulari is not the biggest edge rusher in the league. While his size has not been a significant issue thus far, he may struggle against bigger, more physical offensive linemen in the NFL.
