The main portion of free agency is over the the NFL Draft is almost two weeks behind us at this point, which means the NFL's schedule release is the next item on the offseason docket.

The league plans to release its full slate of 272 games on Thursday, May 11 at 8:00 p.m. ET, but it went ahead and revealed the international matchups early Wednesday morning.

Sure enough, the Buffalo Bills are one of the teams heading overseas in 2023. And, it just so happens that their matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars is a historical one, as well.

This matchup marks the second of back-to-back overseas games for the Jaguars, which has never been done before. The Jags play the Atlanta Falcons the week before playing the Bills in Week 4.

This will be chalked up as a home game for the Bills, since the Jags are playing "at home" the week before. That sounds great at first, but then it means they lose a game at Orchard Park. But, on the flip side, they got to block off one home game from getting moved overseas, so, at least the team got something in return.

In terms of their own history, these two teams have met 18 times and the record is an even 9-9 between them. It's been a rather even series since 2013, as well. The teams have tied for a 3-3 record over the last six meetings and neither has won by more than a touchdown, with the last matchup being the Urban Meyer's stunning 9-6 victory in 2021.

Overall, it's cool to see the Bills involved in NFL history. How great would it be if they officially made it their history, however, by smacking the Jags around in Week 5?
