Look, everyone knows that Jake Moody is going to be the San Francisco 49ers' kicker in 2023 unless he completely bottoms out during the summer.

That's not happening after Wednesday's final minicamp practice.

According to multiple reports, Moody nailed a 63-yard field goal on his last attempt of the day. Per The Associated Press' Josh Dubow, he also had room to spare after the make.

Moody had a strong day on Tuesday, too. Reports were he missed just one kick all day. So far, he's been everything the 49ers expected when they took him with the 99th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

"[He's] everything we thought he was," special teams coordinator Brian Schneider recently told reporters when asked about Moody. "Just really consistent, really even-keeled and exactly what we hoped he’d be… He’s just really consistent in everything he does from his approach, to his ball flight, to his finish, to the way he is around here all day, so it’s been fun having him.”

The NFL record for the longest field goal of all-time was once 63-yards and that record stood for 43-years before Matt Prater broke it with a 64-yarder in 2013. Baltimore Ravens legend Justin Tucker now holds the record thanks to the 66-yarder he nailed against the Detroit Lions back in 2021.

No matter how you slice it: Moody's kick was damn impressive.

Veteran Zane Gonzalez is competing with Moody, but it's clear Gonzalez doesn't have a shot. Again, unless something crazy happens between now and September, Moody will be the 49ers kicker and will have big shoes to fill now that Robbie Gould is no longer with the team.
