One analyst is still doubting something he should have learned from last season with the Kansas City Chiefs.
For some reason, the Chiefs are still being doubted in life after Tyreek Hill, as if they didn't just show the world that Patrick Mahomes can go crazy with or without an All-Pro receiver. He just had the best season of his career and followed that up with a Super Bowl and a Super Bowl MVP, yet, one CBS Sports analyst thinks the Chiefs' biggest red flag is in their wide receiver room.
Chiefs: More WR transition We aren't foolish enough to doubt Patrick Mahomes, regardless of his receiving corps; 2022 proved, after all, that he doesn't need a Tyreek Hill to own the rest of the NFL. But once again, they figure to be pretty dependent on tight end Travis Kelce, who's still in peak form but will be 34 in October. If he were to go down, they're counting on guys like Kadarius Toney and rookie Rashee Rice to seamlessly replace JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hardman. –Cody Benjamin, CBS Sports
First, Benjamin contradicts himself the entire statement, saying you don't want to count Mahomes out after seeing what he did, but proceeds to do that. I get the objective is to pick a weakness for every contending team, but the Chiefs have bigger "red flags," like potentially their offensive line, in which was a weird situation this offseason.
The Chiefs love their receiver room, which is why they didn't heavily pursue Odell Beckham Jr. and are still laying low in the DeAndre Hopkins sweepstakes. Everyone, coaches and players feels fine when it comes to the receiver room
“We love our wide receiver room right now,” Nagy said during minicamp. “The guys are competing.”
Nagy, who was the quarterbacks coach last season, is okay with the wide receiver room one bit.
“I think we’re deep. That’s the biggest thing,” quarterback Patrick Mahomes said to the media during this offseason. “Usually, you have a good feel for who the guys are going to be and everything like that. But with this group, it’s like every single guy, you’re like, ‘I can see him making a path to making the team.’ So that’s what you want.”
Patrick Mahomes is the one throwing them the ball, and when he said some similar things about the group last season, it all ended up working out. But I wonder if he has ever talked bout the position being this deep.
“It should be great competition,” Andy Reid said. “I can’t wait for (training) camp where you really get an idea of that next level, what they can do when bullets are flying.”
I guess in training camp is where we will see if this will be a real red flag or not. Everyone seems to feel fine about it.

The Kansas City Chiefs have some questions heading into 2023, but Patrick Mahomes doesn’t seem worried.
