Per The Score's Jordan Schultz, the Tennessee Titans and rookie quarterback Will Levis agreed to terms on a rookie deal that allows the second-round pick to report to training camp on Saturday.
It's obviously great news considering rookies report on the same day. Now, Levis -and the Titans- don't have to worry about potentially playing catch-up due to missed time.
The news also means the Titans have their entire rookie class under contract.
Most second-round rookies have seen contract negotiations come down to the wire this offseason. This is due to second-rounders setting new standards regarding guaranteed money in their deals.
In fact, former Titans Director of Player Personnel, Monti Ossenfort, was one of the first people to bring this up when he spoke on the topic during a June radio interview.
Contract details haven't been released, yet, but Spotrac projects Levis' deal at four-years, $9,542,166 million. That number includes a $3,939,757 signing bonus. Detroit Lions tight end, Sam LaPorta, received $7,517,173 in total guarantees. Therefore, Levis' total guarantees should be higher since LaPorta was taken one pick after him.
Joey Porter Jr., the 32nd overall pick and first pick of the second round, remains unsigned and is one of four second-rounders that have yet to sign a rookie deal.
Kevin Byard does the Titans a solid but a key question remains
