According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Tennessee Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks has been diagnosed with an LCL sprain after being carted off from joint practices on Wednesday.
Burks went down with a left leg injury after catching a long touchdown pass from Ryan Tannehill during full team period. When he was carted off, Burks was grabbing behind his left leg.
A to Z Sports was told earlier this afternoon that Burks did no damage to his ACL on the play.
All things considered, an LCL sprain is really good news and a huge sigh of relief for the Titans. If Burks is only to miss a few weeks, it's possible that he could be on the field for Week 1.
Even if Burks misses the season opener, though, this is still great news for Tennessee, who need both Burks and DeAndre Hopkins to stay as healthy as possible.
When a player goes down with an injury around the knee and is carted off the field, it's easy to assume the worst. Had it been the worst and Burks missed the entire season, the outlook for the 2023 season is drastically different in Tennessee.
Everybody can exhale. Treylon Burks should be back on the field before long.
