Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor quickly shot down a Joe Burrow-related conspiracy theory on Tuesday.

While speaking with reporters on Tuesday, Taylor was asked about Burrow's continued absence from practice.

Burrow, of course, is currently recovering from the calf injury he suffered just after the start of training camp in July.

The reporter asked Taylor if Burrow's absence is related in any way to contract extension negotiations.

Burrow is expected to received a lucrative contract extension before the start of the 2023 season.

Taylor quickly offered a one word response as soon as the question was asked.

"No," answered Taylor before moving on to the next question.

There might have been a few people who bought into that theory, but most Bengals fans know that the main thing on Burrow's mind is winning a Super Bowl. The contract is important, but that's secondary to Burrow's goals this season.

By the way, when asked about Burrow returning to practice this week, Taylor offered a bit of hope that former LSU star could soon be back at practice.

"We'll see," said Taylor.

The Bengals will kick off the 2023 season on September 10 with a quick trip north to take on the Cleveland Browns.
